Last Class until we leave!

Students in the N393 Rural Health travel course have been busy researching health disparities in the Swain County of North Carolina.  We are learning about issues leading to health disparities in the rural Appalachian area.  Today, in our last class, students presented on some of the top health disparities (adolescent drug abuse, mental health issues, and the high prevalence of cancer and deaths from cancer).

We are so excited to head to Cherokee this Saturday!  We know we have to pack light, get ready for a long van ride, and mentally prepare for all the amazing learning experiences we are about to have.

If you click on a student's name on the left side of this blog, you will see their own personal blogs and what they are learning on this trip.  I know they are excited to share with all of you what they are doing!

Cherokee, NC here we come!
